PMGKAY Rice Rules Update: A very important news has come out for ration card holders. Recently, the Central Government has decided to improve the quality of ration being provided through ration cards, due to which crores of beneficiaries will now be able to get good quality ration. Whereas earlier the quantity of broken grains in rice was high, now its quantity has been reduced through the Public Distribution System (PDS). With this decision of the government, ration card holders will now be able to get better quality rice than before.
What changed regarding the quality of rice?

Whereas in rice its limit has been reduced from 16 percent to 5 percent. After almost 30 years, the government has changed the quality standards of rice available under the government scheme, due to which crores of ration card holders will now be able to get better rice than before.
Will there be any change in the quantity of ration?
- The government has clarified that there has been no change in the quantity of ration.
- The beneficiaries will get the same quantity of ration which was being distributed earlier.
- In the new decision, only the quality of rice has been improved, due to which crores of families will now be able to get better quality rice than before.

35 kg grains will be available every month
Let us tell you that under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), every person gets 5 kg free ration every month. At the same time, poor families under Antyodaya Anna Yojana will continue to get 35 kg of food grains every month. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has made it clear that the only objective of this decision of the government is to provide good quality and clean food grains to the people.
