Iran Military Chief: Military Chief Hatami vowed to take revenge, said he would give a befitting reply to America and Israel

Iran’s military chief Major General Amir Hatami has announced to avenge the death of his country’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He clearly said that the attack carried out jointly by America and Israel will be responded to. This statement was given during the funeral held in Tehran.

Major General Amir Hatami officially said that the enemies of the Iranian nation, i.e. America and Israel, should know that they will avenge the blood of the martyred leader. Speaking to state broadcaster IRIB, he said that this incident has further strengthened his resolve and now he will move forward with more determination than before.

Information about funeral and new leadership

The funeral rituals of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have started from 3 July 2026 and will continue till 9 July. During this time the last journey will pass through many parts of Iran and Iraq. Meanwhile, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has taken command as the new supreme leader and commander-in-chief of the armed forces.

Earlier on July 1, 2026, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Mohamad Baqer Zolqadr had also said that those responsible for Khamenei’s assassination would not be spared. On July 3, several senior military commanders signed a letter calling for revenge and following the instructions of the new leadership.

Amidst this tense situation, the mediators of Qatar and Pakistan have given an update. He told that the peace talks between Iran and America had been stopped for the time being. Now these talks will be rescheduled as soon as possible after the funeral rituals are completed.
