New Delhi: There is news of relief for lakhs of candidates appearing in the NEET UG 2026 examination. According to a senior official of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the result may be released by July 20 despite the re-NEET exam. Besides, preparations are also being made to start MBBS admissions and new academic session on time. However, the official notification regarding the result date has not been issued yet by NTA.
NEET UG Result may be released by July 20
An important update has come out for lakhs of candidates waiting for the result of NEET UG 2026 exam. According to a senior official of the National Testing Agency (NTA), even after the re-NEET exam, the result can be released till July 20, 2026. However, the agency has not yet issued any official notification regarding the result date.
Usually the result of NEET UG exam is declared within about 45 days of the exam being conducted. This time there was concern among the candidates about the possible delay in the result due to re-NEET exam. However, as per the available information NTA is working towards releasing the result within the deadline.
Preparation to start MBBS admission and new session on time
Due to Re-NEET exam, the biggest question was arising regarding MBBS admission and new academic session. On this, a senior NTA official has indicated that the Re-NEET exam will not have any major impact on the admission process of medical colleges.
According to the official, the effort is to ensure that the new academic session of MBBS starts as per schedule. That is, after the declaration of results, there will be no unnecessary delay in the admission process. This will provide relief to lakhs of students who are waiting for admission in medical colleges.

Counseling process will start after the result
After the release of NEET UG Result 2026, the counseling process for admission to MBBS, BDS and other medical courses will be started. At present, the detailed schedule of counseling has not been released, but the concerned authority can issue its notification immediately after the declaration of the result.
During counselling, candidates will be able to select the medical college and preferred course as per their rank. After this the result of seat allotment will be released. Candidates who will be allotted seats will have to complete the document verification and admission process in the concerned medical college within the stipulated time.
Candidates will have to keep an eye on official updates
NTA has not yet officially confirmed the result date. Therefore candidates should avoid relying on any unconfirmed information or viral claims on social media. All official updates related to result, counseling and admission process will be released on NTA website.
Candidates are advised to keep their application number, date of birth and other login details ready in advance, so that they can download their scorecard without any hassle after the declaration of result. The counseling process is likely to progress rapidly after the result, so it would be better to keep all the necessary documents ready in advance.
