Ram temple donation theft case: RSS’s first reaction, said- ‘Faith is deeply hurt, the culprits should be given the harshest punishment’

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has given an official response for the first time on the case of alleged theft from the donation boxes of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. The organization termed this incident as extremely unfortunate and said that it has deeply hurt the faith of the entire Hindu society and crores of devotees of Lord Shri Ram.

RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said in a statement issued on Friday that the incident of alleged theft of devotees’ money deposited in the donation boxes of the temple has saddened and distressed the entire society. He said that there should be a fair investigation into the case and whoever is found guilty should be given the harshest punishment as per the law.

Expressed confidence in SIT investigation

RSS said in its statement that on the request of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, the Uttar Pradesh government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate this entire matter. The organization expressed hope that the investigation will be completed in a fair and transparent manner and strict legal action will be ensured against the culprits.

RSS said that if any person is found guilty during the investigation, he should not be spared under any circumstances.

Expected administrative improvements from the Trust

The Sangh has also appealed to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to make necessary improvements in the administration and management of the temple. The statement said that this incident is extremely condemnable and considering it an extraordinary incident, the Trust should comprehensively review its arrangements.

RSS said that to maintain the faith and trust of crores of devotees, it is necessary to make the financial system, operational system and security system of the temple more strong and transparent.

‘Confusion and uncertainty must end’

Dattatreya Hosabale said that the atmosphere of confusion and uncertainty created after this incident should be ended soon. He said that it is expected that the SIT constituted by the temple management and the government will take necessary steps in this direction.

He expressed confidence that through better financial management, transparent operations and arrangements in accordance with religious norms, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will further strengthen the faith of the devotees.

‘Anti-Hindu forces are trying to spoil the atmosphere’

In its statement, RSS also alleged that some anti-Hindu and anti-national forces are trying to damage the image of Hindu religion and Ram temple by taking advantage of this unfortunate incident.

The Sangh appealed to the Hindu community across the country to maintain patience and restraint in this sensitive time and avoid any kind of rumor or propaganda.

This issue became a topic of discussion at the national level after the case of alleged theft of money deposited in donation boxes in Shri Ram temple of Ayodhya came to light. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Uttar Pradesh government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and legal action has also been initiated against many people.

Now after the first official reaction of RSS on this matter has come out, it has been clearly indicated that the organization wants an impartial investigation into this entire episode and comprehensive reforms in the temple administration, so that the faith of the devotees can be fully maintained.
