Still waiting for Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s debut, Team India management expressed confidence in Sanju-Abhishek, Morkel said – experience is also important along with performance.

New Delhi . Vaibhav Suryavanshi is being considered a big star of the future in Indian cricket, but the current stance of Team India clearly indicates that patience is equally important along with talent. During the England tour, the team management has made it clear that despite Vaibhav’s excellent prospects, there will be no haste in the team combination and trust will remain on the experienced players.

Before the second T20 match, the team’s bowling coach Morne Morkel said that the aim of the Indian team is not only to give opportunities to new talent but also to stand strong with the players who have made significant contributions to the country over the years. According to him, a player cannot be evaluated on the basis of only two or three bad innings.

The performance of opening batsmen Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma is being continuously discussed in the current series. While Abhishek Sharma has shown his rhythm by playing useful innings in recent matches, Sanju Samson’s bat has not been able to perform as expected so far. Despite this, the team management believes that players who play important roles in big tournaments should get full opportunity to make a comeback.

Morkel said that the culture of the Indian team has been to maintain faith in the players. He believes that players who achieve success at the world level should be supported in difficult times, because this is the identity of a strong team. He also said that competition within the team should be positive, but it should not affect the confidence of the players.

Morkel openly praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He said that it is challenging for any player to be a part of the international dressing room at such a young age, but Vaibhav has impressed everyone with his behaviour, confidence and mature approach towards the game. His batting and willingness to learn during net practice has attracted the attention of the coaching staff.

He also clarified that it would not be appropriate to change the batting order just for the purpose of including Vaibhav in the team. Removing a player from his natural role can affect the entire team balance. Such decisions will be taken keeping in mind the circumstances, needs of the team and preparations of the players.

Morkel expressed confidence that whenever Vaibhav gets an opportunity to make his debut in international cricket, he will be fully prepared mentally and technically. According to him, the young batsman has easily adapted himself to the team environment and has developed a good understanding with his fellow players, which is a positive sign for the future.

Morkel also praised young fast bowler Prince Yadav, saying that his talent had been monitored for a long time and now even at the international level, he is showing the ability to take right decisions under pressure. At the same time, the pace and aggressive bowling of Harshit Rana, who returned from injury, was also said to be encouraging for the Indian pace attack.

  • This stance of the Indian team indicates that not only current performance but also experience, consistency and team balance are being given equal importance in the selection process. In such a situation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s international debut may have to wait for some more time, but the team management is confident that when the right time comes, this young talent will be fully prepared to make a strong mark in Indian cricket.
