India’s big action against terrorists sitting across the border, 23 declared ‘individual terrorists’ under UAPA
New Delhi: The Government of India has taken a big step in tightening the noose on terrorist activities taking place across the border. The Central Government has officially declared 23 terrorists operating in Pakistan as ‘individual terrorists’ under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). These terrorists face serious charges like spreading terror in Jammu and Kashmir, recruiting youth, infiltrating, delivering weapons through drones and conspiring to carry out attacks in India. Security agencies believe that many terrorists included in the list are very close to the top leadership of Pakistan-based terrorist organizations.
According to the notification issued by the Home Ministry, many terrorists included in the list have links with banned terrorist organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. They have been accused of promoting anti-India activities, training terrorists and supporting cross-border terrorism. The government says that the role of these people was not limited to just recruiting terrorists, but they have also played an active role in strengthening the terrorist network, raising funds and planning attacks in India.
Major names included in the list
Names like Abdur Rauf, Hafiz Khalid Waleed and Rana Iftikar are included in the notification. It has been told that Rana Iftikar has been working in the operations of terrorist organizations and connecting new people to the organization. Abdur Rauf is accused of being associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa and planning terrorist activities and gathering financial support. Hafiz Khalid Waleed has also been accused of working for a terrorist organization for a long time. Apart from this, the name of Masood Ilyas Kashmiri, also known as Mufti Masood Ilyas, has also been included in this list. He is accused of recruiting terrorists from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and infiltrating into India.
Allegations of sending weapons through drones and online recruitment
According to the information released by the government, Mohammad Musadiq alias Hamza lives in Shakargarh area of Narowal district of Pakistan. He has been accused of helping terrorists associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, sending weapons through drones across the border and attracting youth towards radicalism through cyber activities. Similarly, the name of Mufti Mohammad Asghar Khan, known as Abu Saad, is also included in the list. He is accused of being involved in the terrorist attack on the army camp in Nagrota. Apart from this, the name of Hafiz Abdul Shakur has also been mentioned in the notification.
Strict stance on cross border terrorism
The security agencies of India have been continuously keeping an eye on the terrorist activities taking place from across the border for a long time. Continuous action is being taken especially to eliminate arms smuggling, infiltration of terrorists and terrorist networks through drones.
The list of terrorists declared by the government includes Ahmed Bhat, Ghulam Farid, Haroon Rashid Jinai, Mohammad Shaheed Faisal, Bilal Ahmed Mir, Abid Qayoom Lone, Nazir Ahmed Gujjar, Ashfaq Ahmed, Imad Ullah Makki, Saifullah Khalid, Mohammad Yaqoob, Maulana Yusuf Taibi, Wasim Noor Jat, Owais Farooq and Qari Yaqoob Sheikh and other names.
