Another blow to Mamata Banerjee! TMC state president Chandrima Bhattacharya resigns from all posts
Kolkata. Trinamool Congress (TMC) has suffered another major setback in the politics of West Bengal. Party state president Chandrima Bhattacharya has announced her resignation from all her organizational posts. He has written a letter to party chief Mamata Banerjee informing her about his decision. Chandrima Bhattacharya was made the state president of TMC in place of Subrata Bakshi on June 3 this year. But now he has not only left the post of State President, but has also distanced himself from all other responsibilities he was holding in the party.

In her letter, Chandrima also made it clear that she will not take up the responsibility of being an authorized signatory on the bank accounts of the party and its associated organizations. Apart from this, he has also refused to work as the authorized representative of Mamata Banerjee before the Election Commission.
However, despite the resignation, Chandrima Bhattacharya expressed respect for Mamata Banerjee and said that she will always have respect for the party chief.
It is noteworthy that TMC had suffered a major setback in the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections. The party was reduced to just 80 seats, while the BJP formed the government by winning 207 seats. Chandrima Bhattacharya had also lost the election from Dumdum North seat.
