Ayodhya/Bhopal, 4 July. The political atmosphere has heated up over allegations of alleged misuse of offerings and donations in the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh has announced to take out a padyatra from Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, to Ayodhya. At the same time, on his statement, Mahant of Ayodhya Satyendra Das Vedanti gave a sharp reaction and said that those who earlier raised questions on the existence of Lord Ram and Ayodhya, are raising the same questions today.
In a press conference held in Bhopal on Friday, Digvijay Singh announced that from October 2, he will undertake a padyatra from Ujjain to Ayodhya. He said that this yatra will be completely non-political and there will be no flag or banner of any political party. According to him, anyone who has faith in Lord Shri Ram and opposes the alleged irregularities in temple offerings and donations can join the yatra.
Digvijay Singh claimed that he had given financial support twice for the construction of Ram Janmabhoomi temple. He did not get the receipt for the donation given for the first time, whereas for the second time he donated Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand, the receipt of which is with him. He said that he had sent a check to the Prime Minister to deposit this amount in the trust, but the Prime Minister’s Office returned it.
He also announced that he will file a claim in the court to get back the Rs 1 lakh 11 thousand given for the construction of the temple. He says that if he gets this amount back, he will donate it to Ramalaya Trust. Digvijay Singh alleged that the donations received for the construction of the temple have been misused and he is marching in protest against this.
Mahant Satyendra Das Vedanti’s counterattack
Ayodhya’s Mahant Satyendra Das Vedanti reacted strongly to Digvijay Singh’s statement. He said, “When such people raise question marks, it seems very strange. Those who called Ram imaginary, called Ayodhya imaginary and were calling a locality in America as Ayodhya, today the same people are raising questions. This is a very unfortunate situation.” Mahant said that Lord Shri Ram is the center of faith of crores of people and such allegations and statements on topics related to Ram temple are an attempt to create confusion in the society.
political turmoil intensifies
Digvijay Singh’s proposed padyatra and allegations regarding temple offerings have once again intensified the political debate on the issue of Ram Temple. At the same time, protest against these allegations has also started from the Sant Samaj of Ayodhya. This controversy may become the subject of more political and religious discussion in the coming days.
