Shehbaz Sharif’s chair is in danger, this ally party announces rebellion! Gave open threat of taking to the streets

MQM-P Protest Threat to Shehbaz Sharif Govt: The chair of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif seems to be in danger. Recently, Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), which is considered to be a party in the government of Pakistan, has threatened the Shahbaz government that if the promises made to them are not fulfilled, then their party will start a movement against the government in the entire Sindh.

MQM-P is a coalition partner in the government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to Pakistan’s famous newspaper Dawn, MQM-P has alleged that the 18-point agreement reached in 2022 has not been implemented yet. The party says that this agreement was part of the political consensus before forming the government, which included important issues like local governance, quota system in jobs and distribution of resources.

Will protest in entire Sindh: MQM-P

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, senior MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar called it a final warning and said, if the demands are not met, the party will start a protest movement which will be difficult to stop. He said the party neither sought a stake in the provincial government nor additional powers, but was only seeking implementation of its agreement.

Sattar also claimed that Shehbaz Sharif himself was involved as the guarantor of the agreement, so now it is the responsibility of the central government to implement it. He said that not a single point out of 18 has been implemented yet, due to which dissatisfaction is increasing among the public.

Shahbaz Sharif’s troubles may increase

The party also raised the demand for federal intervention or a referendum, citing Article 149 of the Constitution. Also, the demand for abolition of local government system, fake domicile and quota system in government jobs in Karachi was reiterated.

MQM-P is playing the role of opposition in Sindh province. The party says that the problems of Karachi and other urban areas are being continuously ignored, due to which political tension is increasing. Openly opposing an ally of the government in this way can become a political challenge for the Shahbaz government and also highlights the dissatisfaction within the alliance.
