PM Modi Inaugurated CG Semi OSAT Facility In Sanand: Whatever India sets its mind to, it achieves, said PM Narendra Modi while inaugurating the country’s third semiconductor plant.

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the country’s third semiconductor plant, CG Semi OSAT Facility, in Sanand, Gujarat. Modi said, today’s program is proof that India achieves whatever it decides to do. Five years ago, India had resolved to make the country a semiconductor hub. We have moved ahead with the mantra of Design in India, Make in India and today commercial production of chip packaging is starting in the third semiconductor plant of the country. The foundation stone of this plant was laid in 2024 and chip testing work started here in August 2025 and it was inaugurated today.

Modi said, this plant of CG Semi is a symbol of the joint efforts of our industry partners from India, Japan and Thailand. This is not just a business venture, it is a model of technology, trust and partnership that is going to give new impetus to India’s semiconductor journey. The Prime Minister said, I am a little more happy with the inauguration of this plant, the reason for this is that 20 years ago I had made all the plans to set up a semiconductor plant in Gujarat, but at that time the Government of India did not know what had happened, due to which (this resolution) could not be fulfilled. Today, after 20-22 years, that old dream is being fulfilled, so I am feeling extremely happy.

Modi said, my nature is that I do not keep my goals small, I do not keep my thoughts small, even if I make a statue, I make it the biggest one in the world. Binod, don’t you hear, work speaks, work speaks. Given the progress we are seeing, our aim is also to strengthen the supply chain related to it. Today India is expanding widely in this direction. Our aim is to develop the entire ecosystem from chip design to fabrication and packaging in India.
