China uncomfortable with the growing strategic partnership between India and Japan, said – cooperation should not be against any third country

New Delhi. The 16th annual summit held between India and Japan concluded with many important decisions and strategic consensus. Describing it as an important achievement for the relations between the two countries, the Ministry of External Affairs said that this visit has further strengthened the commitment of both the countries towards common development, economic cooperation and peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Also next year, India and Japan will jointly celebrate 75 years of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.




  • Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to India was successful

    Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi returned home on Friday after a three-day visit to India. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on the social media platform ‘X’ that Prime Minister Takaichi’s visit was going to take the partnership between the two countries to new heights. He said that during the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, both the countries agreed on many important issues and reiterated their resolve to advance cooperation towards common goals.

    Jaiswal said that the partnership between India and Japan is not limited to bilateral relations only, but has also become an important foundation for strengthening peace, prosperity and stability at the global level, including in the Indo-Pacific region. He also informed that Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh bid formal farewell to the Japanese Prime Minister in New Delhi.

    Preparations for the 75th anniversary were also discussed

    Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri informed that in the talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Japanese Prime Minister, the programs to be organized on the occasion of completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year were also discussed in detail. Both the leaders described this historic occasion as an opportunity to give a new direction to bilateral relations.

    China’s reaction to India-Japan cooperation

    Following agreements between India and Japan on defense cooperation and strengthening the supply chain of critical minerals, China also responded. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said that cooperation between any two countries should not be aimed at targeting any third country or harming its interests.

    He said that international cooperation should not be used as a medium to create small factions, create division or increase conflict. Guo also said that the security of global industrial and supply chains is a shared responsibility of all countries and all parties should promote openness, cooperation and constructive partnership.

    The world’s eyes on strategic partnership

    Strategic coordination between India and Japan in defence, economic cooperation, supply chain and Indo-Pacific region is continuously strengthening. At such a time, China’s reaction is being considered important in the context of regional geopolitical equations. Experts believe that the increasing proximity of the two democratic countries can play an important role in maintaining balance in the Indo-Pacific region.
