IND vs ENG: ‘The match was under our control till the 15th over’, after the defeat Shreyas Iyer called the turning point
Manchester. After losing by four wickets in the second T20 match against England, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer said that the team remained strong in the match for about 15 overs, but in the final stages, England turned the match in its favor.
Shreyas refused to put the blame for the defeat on any one player and said that the entire team made a good effort, although a big over proved to be decisive for India.
‘190 runs was a good score on this wicket’
After the match, Iyer said that double bounce was visible on the pitch and A score of 190 runs could have been considered challenging.
They said that “I don’t want to hold any one player responsible. We were completely in the contest till the 15th over. Then came a big over and from there the match slipped out of our control.”

He also said that Curran understood the pitch and field conditions very quickly, due to which the Indian bowlers did not get a chance to make a comeback.

Shreyas admitted that the team was well aware at what point the match went out of hand, but he refrained from taking the name of any player.
They said that “We were in a great position till the 15th over. After that suddenly the momentum of the match shifted towards England and from there the victory became easier for them.”
