Child missing from station recovered in 16 hours, plan was to sell it for Rs 1.5 lakh
Railway police recovered the 2-year-old innocent boy who was kidnapped from Jamalpur railway station in Bihar in 16 hours. There was a conspiracy to sell the child in Patna for Rs 1.5 lakh. The joint team of RPF and GRP took action and arrested 3 smugglers. The innocent is safe now. After the child theft incident, there was chaos in the entire station premises. Various types of allegations were being made against the police.
Kari Devi of Baisa village of Parbatta police station area of Khagaria had come to Jamalpur with her grandson Adarsh Kumar. The missing child needed treatment. Adarsh is 2 years old. After treatment, the grandmother was sitting with the child on platform number 1. The child was sleeping. During this time a vicious person picked him up and took him away. The miscreant escaped aboard the Farakka Express.
After the child went missing the grandmother started making noise. Information about the incident was given to RPF through the people present at the station. The team was formed under the leadership of RPF Inspector Sudhanshu Kumar Sudha. CCTV footage was scrutinized. In the footage, the accused was seen picking up the child and taking him towards the S-5 coach. The escort team deployed in the train was immediately informed. The train was searched. The child was recovered safely from the general coach. Accused Mohammad Tipu alias Ahsan was also arrested.

A deal worth Rs 1.5 lakh was fixed in Patna.
Tipu made a big revelation during interrogation. He told that he was taking the child to sell to Patna resident Bablu Kumar. The deal was finalized for Rs 1.5 lakh. Mobile call details were scrutinized. The names of Bablu Kumar and Rajesh Kumar came up in this. Teams of RPF, GRP and local police reached Patna. Bablu Kumar and Rajesh Kumar were arrested by laying a trap in Nadi police station area. During interrogation, both of them confessed to the crime. Bablu told that he was unemployed. Then, along with brother Santosh Kumar and other associates, he formed a gang. These people used to sell children to childless couples for Rs 5 to 6 lakh. Rajesh Kumar used to work as an agent and find customers.
Police confiscated the mobiles of the three accused. Digital evidence of buying and selling of children was found in the mobile. Chats, call records and photos have also been recovered. The recovered innocent Adarsh was given medical treatment at Munger Sadar Hospital. After this he was presented before the Child Welfare Committee. CWC handed over the child safely to his family members. The three arrested accused have been handed over to GRP Jamalpur. A case has been registered against him. Police are searching for other gang members.

The family expressed gratitude
The child’s grandmother Kari Devi thanked the police. He said that if timely action had not been taken then who knows what would have happened. Now the child has returned home safely. The police is now investigating the entire network of this gang. Officials believe that this could be a big racket of child trafficking. Further arrests are possible.
