Violent clash between prisoners in Sri Lankan prison, 25 killed and 100 injured

Colombo. 25 people died in a violent clash between prisoners in Sri Lanka on Monday. About 100 people were injured. Jail officials are also suspected to be among the dead. After this violence, the Sri Lankan Army has been called for help. Officials said they sought support from the Army to control the situation.

    According to local television channel Hiru, the dead included both prisoners and prison officials. This prison is located about 35 kilometers north of Colombo. It is not yet clear what caused the clash. But it is being told that during the riot on Monday, some prisoners snatched the weapons of the jail, after which the violence increased further and the situation became fatal.
