RJD-Congress candidates Rar, PK and Tej Pratap are also in the fray in Bankipur; Who benefits?

Sanjay Singh, Patna. Before the Bankipur by-election, political activity has intensified. The tussle over the seat in the grand alliance has started. Both RJD and Congress want to field their candidates on this seat. Prashant Kishore from Jan Suraj and Veena Manvi from Tej Pratap’s party are also in the fray. In such a situation, BJP can get political benefit from it. The people of the country are keeping an eye on this election. This seat has become vacant after the resignation of BJP National President Nitin Naveen.

Voting on Bankipur seat will be held on July 30. The results will come on August 3. There is confusion about who will contest on this seat in the grand alliance. RJD is claiming the seat. At the same time, Congress is also presenting its claim. Party leaders are saying that Bankipur is an urban seat. Congress has a strong base here. Now everyone’s eyes are on what decision the Grand Alliance takes in the end.

Prashant Kishor will contest elections

Meanwhile, Jan Suraj made a big announcement. Jan Suraj Chief Manoj Bharti said in a press conference on Sunday that Prashant Kishore himself will contest elections from Bankipur. Kishore has earlier said that Jan Suraj has been my life for the last 4 years. I will fulfill whatever responsibility the party gives me. He said, ‘If Bankipur wins, the morale of the party will increase. The match has become interesting with the arrival of PK.

Tej Pratap also fielded his candidate

Before Jan Suraj, Tej Pratap Yadav also declared his candidate. Janashakti Janata Dal supremo Tej Pratap has fielded social activist Veena Manvi. Tej Pratap says. He will contest the elections alone. Veena Manvi is working on land.

Bankipur is the stronghold of BJP

Bankipur is a traditional stronghold of BJP. Nitin Naveen was the MLA from here continuously since 2006. In 2025 also he had won by more than 98 thousand votes. Now after his resignation this seat has become vacant. BJP has not declared the candidate yet but this seat is a question of prestige for the party. In 2025, BJP got 98,299 votes here. RJD’s Rekha Kumari got 46,363 votes. Jan Suraj’s Vandana Kumari got only 7,717 votes. NOTA had got 1,464 votes. This time the equation may change.

Not a triangular but a quadrangular contest.

If there is no division in the grand alliance then the contest will be triangular. BJP vs Grand Alliance vs Jan Suraj. But if RJD and Congress fight separately then the contest will become four-cornered. On top of that, there is also a party of Jan Suraj and Tej Pratap. Political experts believe that a split in the Grand Alliance can benefit BJP. If votes are divided then victory will be easy for BJP. At the same time, PK factor can influence urban voters. The youth and educated class is listening to PK. All parties have started campaigning. BJP has started meetings at booth level. RJD and Congress workers are going door to door. Jan Suraj’s team is marching.
