Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Prize Money: Australia becomes champion, prize of Rs 22.27 crore; Even after being out, it rained crores of rupees on India-Pakistan

Lucknow Desk: Australia once again won the title of Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Under the captaincy of Sophie Molineux, the Australian women’s team created history by defeating England by 7 wickets in the final. With this, Australia achieved the distinction of winning the Women’s T20 World Cup for a record seventh time.

Australia won this title for the first time in the year 2010. After this, the team became champion in 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2023 and now in 2026 also. On the other hand, England’s hopes of winning the second trophy again remained unfulfilled. England won their first and so far only Women’s T20 World Cup in 2009. After this, she reached the finals four times, but lost to Australia every time.

Champion Australia got a prize of Rs 22.27 crore

The ICC had set a total prize money of $87.64 lakh (about Rs 83.41 crore) for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is about 10 percent more than the previous edition.

Australia, which became the champion, got prize money of 23.40 lakh dollars (about Rs 22.27 crore). Whereas runner-up England was given a prize of 11.70 lakh dollars (about Rs 11.13 crore).

All 12 teams received participation money

According to ICC rules, each team participating in the tournament was assured a minimum amount of $ 2.47 lakh (about Rs 2.35 crore).

Apart from this, a bonus of $ 31,154 (about Rs 29.64 lakh) was also given for each win in the group stage. Both the teams that lost in the semi-finals received prize money of 6.75 lakh dollars (about Rs 6.42 crore). This time West Indies and South Africa were eliminated in the semi-finals.

Despite not reaching the semi-finals, India-Pakistan earned good money

India and Pakistan could not reach the semi-finals this time and were eliminated from the group stage itself. However, both teams received substantial prize money from the tournament.

The Indian women’s team won three matches in the group stage. Apart from the participation amount of Rs 2.35 crore, about Rs 88.94 lakh was received as bonus for three wins. In this way, India earned a total of Rs 3.23 crore from this tournament.

Whereas Pakistan won only one match against Netherlands in the group stage. Including participation money and winning bonus, Pakistan team won prize money of around Rs 2.64 crore.
