Team India announced for Zimbabwe T-20 series, Sanju Samson out, Vaibhav Suryavanshi gets place

Zimbabwe T-20 Series Team India: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team. The most surprising thing is that Sanju Samson has been kept out of this series. Whereas, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma have got place as openers.

Team India announced for Zimbabwe tour

Zimbabwe T-20 Series Team India: After the England tour, the Indian cricket team will go to Zimbabwe for the T-20 series. This series will start from 23 July 2026. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the team. The most surprising thing is that Sanju Samson has been kept out of this series. Whereas, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma have got place as openers.

Shreyas Iyer will captain

After Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma got a place in the Indian cricket team, it has become clear that both the players will be seen opening in all the matches. Talking about the team, Shreyas Iyer has got the captaincy and Tilak Verma has got the vice-captaincy. Whereas, Ishan Kishan will remain the wicket keeper. Apart from this, Shivam Dubey, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Varun Chakraborty, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav and Prabhsimran Singh have got a place in the T-20 squad.

Prabhsimran second wicketkeeper

Prabhasimran has been selected as the second wicketkeeper. Rinku Singh has once again returned to the Indian cricket team. At the same time, Akshar Patel and Washington Sundar have been kept out of the team. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav was out of Team India for the last two years due to injury. He played the last match in the year 2024. Talking about Rinku Singh, he last played a match for the Indian cricket team in February. He did not even get a place for the tour of Ireland and England.

There will be three matches in the T-20 series and all three matches will be held in Harare.

  • First match- 23 July (Thursday), Harare
  • Second match- 25 July (Saturday), Harare
  • Third match, 26 July (Sunday), Harare
