Maharashtra Rain Update : Heavy rains have lashed the state and 21 people have unfortunately lost their lives in various accidents. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Red Alert’ of cloudburst-like rain in Nashik district. As a precautionary measure, all schools and colleges in the district have been closed, and the famous Trimbakeshwar and Saptasringi temples have also been temporarily closed for devotees for security reasons.

In the last five days, as many as 21 people have lost their lives in the state due to various incidents of lightning, falling trees, floods and collapsing walls due to rain. As the heavy rain continues, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘red alert’ for cloudburst-like rain for Nashik district. The administration has taken immediate steps to avoid the possible danger arising out of this serious situation and has decided to close all the schools and colleges in the district; Also, due to security reasons, the famous Trimbakeshwar and Saptshringi Devi temples have also been temporarily closed for devotees. ‘Red Alert’ in Nashik

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red alert’ for heavy rainfall for Nashik district, predicting severe cloudburst with heavy to very heavy rains in Igatpuri, Trimbakeshwar and entire western parts of Nashik. After this serious warning of the Meteorological Department, the local administration has ordered immediate alert and prepared the emergency system. Schools, colleges and temples closed

In view of the flood-like situation in the area including Nashik district and the cloudburst warning of the meteorological department, the district administration has taken a major decision as a safety measure. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, all schools and colleges in several rain-affected areas including Nashik, Trimbakeshwar, Peth and Dindori have been declared holiday immediately. Also, due to the increase in rainfall, it has been banned to go to the forts and tourist places in the hilly areas, and the famous Trimbakeshwar temple, which is a place of worship for millions of devotees, and the temple at Saptshringi Gad have also been completely closed for darshan. Rains in other districts also

Like Nashik, other districts of the state are witnessing heavy rainfall, Mumbai and Pune have flooded many low-lying areas due to heavy rains. Due to these continuous heavy rains, road and rail traffic has been affected and life has been completely disrupted. Citizens have been urged to stay in safe places as several major roads in Mumbai are flooded, while in Pune city and surrounding hilly areas, incessant rains have led to severe landslides at some places.
