Uddhav is doing ‘Ram Raksha Andolan’ with the old attitude, will he get the lost political ground?

The case of theft of offerings and theft of donations in Ram temple of Ayodhya has heated up the politics of the country. BJP and its leaders, who were playing on the front foot on the issue of Hindutva and Ram Mandir, are seen on the back foot. At the same time, the opposition parties and their leaders are fiercely attacking the BJP on the issue of theft in Ram temple. Leaders of two states are at the forefront in raising concerns about this. One himself is Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav from Uttar Pradesh and Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray from Maharashtra. Even though the undivided Shiv Sena, which was involved in the Ram Mandir movement, is now divided, one Eknath Shinde faction of Shiv Sena is with BJP. Shinde group is completely silent on the theft in the temple.

But BJP’s rival Shiv Sena (UBT) Uddhav Thackeray faction is attacking BJP by making serious allegations against it. In fact, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, his father Bal Thackeray and their Shiv Sena have been identified with the image of firebrand Hindutva. Also, the Thackeray family has been aggressive regarding Ram temple. But snatching the party from the Thackeray family and distance from power has given him an opportunity to rise once again. Uddhav Thackeray has seized this opportunity.

‘Ram Raksha Andolan’ against theft

In fact, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray started ‘Ram Raksha Andolan’ against the theft of offerings in the Ram temple of Ayodhya. On Sunday, he fiercely targeted BJP on this occasion. Uddhav Thackeray said in front of thousands of Shiv Sainiks drenched in Mumbai rain, ‘It is unfortunate that people who loot Hindus are in power. A robber cannot be asked to investigate his own loot. This work should be done impartially.

Uddhav Thackeray had come with full preparation

On this occasion, Uddhav Thackeray had come fully prepared. He was wearing saffron colored kurta. Along with party workers, he recited Hanuman Stotra and Hanuman Chalisa at the Hanuman Temple in Dadar in central Mumbai. Not only this, the Shiv Sena chief, while referring to the slogan ‘Ayodhya to Jhanki hai, Kashi-Mathura abhi baaki hain’, said that he is worried about what will happen in Kashi and Mathura.

Demand for impartial investigation of the matter

Uddhav Thackeray, while addressing a rally outside the Hanuman temple, demanded an impartial investigation into the matter. Dressed in saffron colored kurta, Uddhav said that if someone misuses Hindutva and loots a temple, Hindus will not spare him.

Hindus are being hypnotized

While reciting Hanuman Chalisa, he made his claim on Hindutva politics to the Shiv Sena workers standing in front of him. He appealed to the people to reclaim the real heritage of Hindutva and described his Shiv Sena as the real heir of Bal Thackeray’s politics. Uddhav said, ‘We are fearless, innocent and country-loving Hindus, but not fools. Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray had awakened Hindus, but today they are being hypnotized.

Uddhav Thackeray’s land begins to slip

Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena was an ally of BJP till 2019. The politics of both the parties was almost similar. Both BJP and Shiv Sena were masters of Hindutva and Ram Mandir politics. But in 2019, when no party got a clear majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Shiv Sena separated from BJP and joined ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi’. In such a situation, Maha Vikas Aghadi formed the government in the state and Uddhav Thackeray was its Chief Minister.

Eknath Shinde got a chance

Maha Vikas Aghadi included Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena. With the coming together of Congress and NCP, Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena gave up their aggressive Hindutva politics and became soft. Ultimately, after running the Maharashtra government for 2.5 years, there was a rebellion in Shiv Sena in 2022 and Uddhav Thackeray’s government fell. Eknath Shinde won the hearts of Uddhav Thackeray’s party, government and people. After the rebellion of 2022, no such opportunity came again, which would give Thackeray and his party Shiv Sena a chance to rise.

Uddhav wants to regain political ground

Shiv Sena (UBT) lost the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections. He got 9 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections but recently 6 MPs rebelled against him and joined Shinde’s Shiv Sena. In such a situation, to become politically strong, Uddhav Thackeray is once again bringing his old Hindutva image into the limelight among the public. Instead of BJP, he is describing himself as best suited for Hindutva politics and Ram Mandir. In such a situation, Uddhav has a lot to gain by doing ‘Ram Raksha Andolan’ with his old attitude. By doing all this, perhaps Uddhav Thackeray wants to regain his lost political ground?
