New Delhi. The Election Commission has announced elections for three Rajya Sabha seats of West Bengal. There is BJP government in West Bengal. BJP will win all these three seats. These three seats were vacant due to the resignation of TMC’s Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, Sushmita Dev and Prakash Chik Baraik. BJP will become stronger after winning all three Rajya Sabha seats. At the same time, NDA will also reach close to two-thirds majority. In such a situation, it will be easy for the Modi government to pass the delimitation bill and the bill that makes PM-CM ministers lose their posts if they go to jail.

Parliament

The monsoon session of Parliament is from July 20. According to the number of members in Rajya Sabha 245, Modi government will need 162 members to pass the important constitutional amendment bill. By winning the three Rajya Sabha seats of West Bengal, the number of BJP MPs will increase to 117. At the same time, the number of NDA MPs in Rajya Sabha will also increase to 145. In such a situation, BJP will have to collect 17 more MPs in Rajya Sabha to have two-third majority. For this, it will be very easy for BJP to bring small parties into its fold. At the same time, along with TMC, the opposition will also get a shock in the Rajya Sabha. The opposition is against the delimitation bill. For this reason the bill could not be passed in the last session.

Mamata Banerjee’s TMC remained in power in West Bengal for 15 years. Recently, TMC had a bad time in the West Bengal Assembly elections and could win only 89 seats. Since then, her party leaders are giving blow after blow to Mamata Banerjee. On one hand, 64 TMC MLAs under the leadership of Ritabrata Banerjee have rebelled against Mamata and her nephew Abhishek. At the same time, 21 Lok Sabha MPs under the leadership of Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar have also separated from TMC and joined another party. In such a situation, Mamata Banerjee may have to face even bigger political shocks in the future.
