The court of Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma has ordered to unblock CJP’s X (formerly Twitter) account. Earlier, the Central Government had blocked CJP’s X account, against which Abhijeet Deepke had moved the Delhi High Court. During the hearing of the case, the Central Government also agreed to reopen the account. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Central Government, told the court that during the pendency of the NEET examination, some of the posts on the CJP account were such that they could have created confusion and chaos among the students and parents. For this reason the account was blocked as a precaution. Tushar Mehta told the court that now the NEET exam has been completed, the purpose of keeping the account blocked has been defeated. After this, the Central Government did not raise any objection to unblocking the account.
Accepting this appeal of the Central Government, the court said that since the NEET examination has been completed and the basis of the blocking order is no longer relevant, it is appropriate to end the ban. The court ordered to lift the ban imposed on the account. After this order of the court, ‘Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)’ will again get access to its X account, on which it has lakhs of followers.
