Monsoon Alert – Very Heavy Rain Warning in 13 States Over Next 9 Hours, Check Complete List

Monsoon Alert: Monsoon rains have commenced across almost all states in the country; Rainfall continues from Delhi, Bihar, and UP to the hilly states. The rain has led to a significant drop in temperature, making the weather pleasantly cool. Regarding the weather in Delhi-NCR, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds occurred today, July 7, providing residents with much-needed relief from the scorching heat.

According to the Meteorological Department, spells of heavy to very heavy rainfall are expected to continue in certain states. A fresh update from the department indicates that the monsoon will advance over the next 2–3 days to cover the remaining parts of the North Arabian Sea, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab, thereby encompassing the entire country.

According to the IMD, alerts have been issued for light to moderate rainfall in some places and heavy rainfall in others across Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and adjacent regions. The IMD reported that as of today, July 7, the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of Gujarat and further areas of Rajasthan and Haryana.

Over the next 2–3 days, it is set to cover the rest of the North Arabian Sea, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab. Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on July 8. Alerts have also been issued regarding an expected increase in rainfall activity and isolated heavy downpours across North India over the next three days.

Monsoon Havoc in Several States
With the onset of July, heavy rainfall is being witnessed across many states in the country. Torrential rains have severely disrupted normal life in several regions. Reports indicate that four people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall in several states over the coming days, including Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, and Rajasthan.

Rain and Storm Alert for 13 States
According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for heavy rain and storms has been issued for 13 states across the country for July 8. These states include Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Kerala.

Rain Expected in Delhi-NCR
The Meteorological Department has stated that the sky over Delhi will remain cloudy for the next four days (July 7–10). Light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms are also anticipated. The maximum temperature in Delhi is forecast to range between 32°C and 37°C. On Tuesday, the weather in Delhi-NCR took a sudden turn, with heavy rain and storms breaking out across several areas.

Weather in Bihar and Jharkhand
The Meteorological Department has indicated that some districts in Bihar may experience heavy rainfall this week. Scattered rain is likely in certain districts between July 8–9 and July 11–13, while heavy rainfall is expected across a wider area on July 7 and July 10. According to the department, Jharkhand is likely to experience heavy rain, accompanied by lightning and localized storms, between July 8 and July 11.

Rain Expected in Uttar Pradesh
A warning for rain and strong winds has been issued for Uttar Pradesh for July 8. Alerts for heavy rain and storms have been issued for several districts, including Mathura, Bulandshahr, Firozabad, Jhansi, Aligarh, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Deoria.

Rain Warning for Rajasthan
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain and strong winds from July 8 to July 10. Warnings for torrential rain have been issued for Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Bikaner, Bundi, Jhalawar, Banswara, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Alwar, Karauli, and Jodhpur. In Jaipur, the maximum temperature will reach 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature 27 degrees Celsius on July 8.
