Indonesia also honored PM Modi with the highest honour, honored with ‘Bintang Adipurna’ medal
Jakarta, July 7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored by Indonesia with one of its highest civilian honours, the ‘Bintang Adipurna of the Republic of Indonesia’ (Medal of Honour). This honor was presented to him by the President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto. Recently, Seychelles also honored Prime Minister Modi with its highest national honor ‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’. With this, Prime Minister Modi has now been honored with the highest national honors of more than 25 countries.
After the felicitation ceremony, bilateral talks took place between Prime Minister Modi and President Prabowo Subianto. The two leaders agreed to further strengthen the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In the talks, special emphasis was laid on enhancing cooperation in key areas such as energy, trade, maritime cooperation, defence, critical minerals, food security and digital economy. The progress made under the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in May 2018 was also reviewed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi was formally welcomed at Istana Merdeka, the presidential palace in Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto warmly welcomed him with a hug during the ceremonial reception. On this occasion, many important agreements and MOUs were also signed between the two countries. While sharing the video of the welcome he received in Jakarta on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Highlights of the special welcome held in Jakarta last evening. Looking forward to the conversation with President Prabowo Subianto today.”
A large number of school children were present carrying the national flags of India and Indonesia to welcome Prime Minister Modi on the second day of his visit to Indonesia. The Prime Minister reached among them and accepted the greeting by shaking hands. He then met senior Indonesian officials and ministers, while President Prabowo Subianto also welcomed members of the Indian delegation. Prime Minister Modi also signed the visitor’s book at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
