Kuwait Power Update: Power lines broken due to debris from Iran, electricity restored in many areas, government issued warning

After power failure in many areas of Kuwait, supply has now been resumed. The Ministry of Electricity (MEW) reported that seven power lines were damaged due to debris dropped by Iran’s air defense system. Now the teams have worked and restored the power.

Ministry spokesperson Eng. Fatima Jawhar Hayat said that emergency teams are still working. In areas where electricity has not yet been restored, the work will be completed after the security department clears the site. Field teams are checking to ensure that there is no further danger and that the power continues for a longer period.

It is a matter of relief that the Health Ministry has confirmed that this outage had no impact on big hospitals, medical centers and blood banks. Apart from this, desalination plants are also fully functional and are being monitored 24 hours so that there is no problem in supply.

This incident is different from the rolling cuts caused by summer, as the temperature is currently reaching close to 52 degrees Celsius. Earlier, a similar thing had happened in March 2026 when six power lines were broken by the debris of drone interception.

The government has appealed to the people to minimize the use of electricity between 11 am and 5 pm. For the complete list of affected areas and information about the time of restoration of electricity, people can check the official website of the ministry.
