Merit list made with blockchain technology: Results of 460 faculty posts declared in AIIMS
New Delhi. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has declared the selection results for more than 460 faculty posts in more than 50 subjects. Secure blockchain digital technology was used for the first time in the selection process to ensure confidentiality, transparency and integrity of records throughout the process.
According to the institute, the use of blockchain based digital system has made the selection process more secure and fair. This technology reduces the possibility of any tampering of data and is helpful in increasing transparency in the selection process.
According to a release issued on Monday, the results of the recruitment process for more than 460 vacant faculty posts ranging from Assistant Professor to Professor in more than 50 subjects at AIIMS-Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences Campus were declared.
More than 3200 candidates had applied for 265 posts at AIIMS and 199 posts at AIIMS-Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences Campus.
Blockchain digital technology was used to maintain confidentiality and transparency in this entire process which lasted for 6 months.
To ensure complete integrity of the process, the marks were digitally locked using a one-time password.
The software prepared the final merit list using these marks and pre-determined algorithm. Apart from resolving the tie (equal points) situation, human intervention played no role.
