ENG vs IND: Indian team suffered the most embarrassing defeat in T20I history, batsmen ‘surrendered’ against the British.

New Delhi: Team India has suffered a big setback in the five-match T20 series being played between India and England. In the third match played at Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham, England defeated India by 125 runs. With this defeat, the Indian team recorded its biggest defeat in terms of runs in T20 international cricket. Also, England took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

Team India collapsed for 76 runs

England, batting first, scored 201 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Indian batting completely disintegrated and the entire team was all out for 76 runs in just 11.4 overs. This is also India’s second lowest score in T20 International.

The batting order fell apart in the power play itself.

The start of the Indian team was very bad. Five wickets fell within the powerplay itself, due to which the team came under pressure. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, captain Shreyas Iyer and Akshar Patel returned to the pavilion early.

After this, Tilak Verma, Shivam Dubey and lower order batsmen also could not make a big partnership. For England, Josh Tong took four wickets, Joffra Archer took three wickets, while Adil Rashid and Will Jacques also achieved important successes.

Phil Salt and Sam Curran gave a strong start

For England, Phil Salt played a brilliant inning of 70 runs. Apart from them, Jos Buttler scored 36 runs and Sam Curran scored unbeaten 41 runs, taking the team’s score beyond 200. Harshit Rana and Prince Yadav took two wickets each for India.

Shameful record registered in the name of Team India

With this defeat, India suffered its biggest defeat by a margin of runs in T20 International. Earlier in 2019, New Zealand had defeated India by 80 runs. Not only this, the Indian team has also failed to register victory in five consecutive T20 international matches.

Now the challenge to save the series

After the cancellation of the first match due to rain and defeat in the second and third matches, India has now lagged behind in the series. The fourth match will be played in Bristol on 9 July. Team India will face a big challenge to save its honor and make a comeback, while England will aim to capture the series with a win.
