EPFO System Upgrade Delays: Shock to PF withdrawers, it will take time to process claims, know how long will the effect last?

Business Desk – EPFO System Upgrade Delays: If you are going to withdraw PF from Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) or use any other online service, then you may have to wait a little extra. EPFO has restarted its Unified Member Portal after system maintenance and software upgrade that lasted for about a week. However, the organization has clarified that the processing of claims and other services may be slower than normal for the first two weeks.

Why will there be a delay after system upgrade?

EPFO has upgraded and consolidated its database, so that online services can become faster, secure and reliable than before. According to the organization, all claims and service requests will be processed in a phased manner with additional verification and validation for the first two weeks after migration. Its purpose is to ensure the accuracy of the records of the members.

PF withdrawal and claim may take more time

EPFO has warned that PF withdrawal, claim settlement and some other online services may take longer than usual until the system is stabilized. Therefore both members and employers may face delays in services.

Avoid sending repeated requests

EPFO has advised members to avoid repeatedly logging into the portal during peak hours or submitting the same claim again. Doing so may increase additional load on the system and may cause further delays in processing.

Some services are not currently available on UMANG app

According to the information released on UMANG app, due to migration activities some services of EPFO are temporarily not available. However, EPFO has clarified that the Unified Member Portal is now fully operational and members can avail most of the services through the portal.

UAN activation rules changed

EPFO has removed the facility to activate Universal Account Number (UAN) from its portal. Now the new UAN activation can be done only through UMANG app.

Face Authentication will be mandatory

Now Aadhaar based Face Authentication has been made mandatory to activate UAN. That means UAN will be activated only after facial biometric verification on UMANG app.

New UAN will also not be created through the portal now
