Sangram Singh’s open challenge to Pakistan’s Abid Ali, India’s lion ready to become Asia champion
Sangram Singh vs Abid Ali MMA: Indian wrestling legend and undefeated Sangram Singh in professional MMA will fight for the Asia Champion title against Pakistan’s Abid Ali on July 19 in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. In the press conference organized before the match, Sangram said that for him this is not just a fight but an opportunity to increase the honor of the country.
Sangram Singh said, ‘Whenever I enter the cage, I fight not just for myself but for 145 crore Indians. India-Pakistan match is always special. I have done all the preparation and my only aim is to fly the tricolor of India the highest. Fitness, discipline and mental strength are the biggest weapons of any player.”
So far undefeated in professional MMA
Two-time Commonwealth Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Sangram Singh has also made a great start in professional MMA. He has won all three matches played so far. Defeated Ali Raza Nasir of Pakistan in 90 seconds in Georgia. Defeated Tunisia’s Hakim Trabelsi in Netherlands. Created history by defeating France’s Florian Coudier in Argentina and became the first Indian to win a professional MMA match there.

Even outside the ring, Sangram Singh is playing an active role in social campaigns. He is the icon of the Fit India campaign and also the brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat and Vikas Bharat campaigns. His international MMA campaign is also supported by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Sports Authority of India (SAI) Deputy Director General Mayank Srivastava (IPS) said that Sangram Singh is the epitome of discipline, dedication and excellence. He said that his journey from wrestling to professional MMA is an inspiration for the youth of the country and he hopes that Sangram will bring glory to India in this championship as well.
Started MMA career after the age of 40
Sangram Singh told that when he entered MMA after the age of 40, many people questioned his decision. He said, ‘I wanted to prove that passion has no age. My aim is not only to win titles but also to inspire the youth towards fitness, discipline and sports.”
Coach said – Sangram is fully prepared
Sangram Singh’s coach Bhupesh Kumar said that his player’s wrestling, striking, fitness and mental strength have improved tremendously in the last two years. He said that the team respects Abid Ali, but Sangram is all set to register another memorable win for India.

PMMA said big competition
PMMA Malaysia president Ismail Marzuki bin said the Asia Champion title fight symbolizes the future of Asian MMA. Meanwhile, CEO Mohammad Hakim bin Luqman Abdullah said that this competition can be included in Asia’s most prestigious MMA championship in the future.
