Kiara Advani, Yash’s ‘Tabaahi’ song draws mixed reactions online

The first song from Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups sparked a wide range of reactions after its release, with many viewers discussing the chemistry between actor Yash and actress Kiara Advani, while others questioned the video’s bold presentation.

The music video featured Yash and Kiara Advani in a romantic setting and focused on an intense love story. It was backed by large-scale visuals, orchestral music and emotional performances.

Soon after the song was released, social media users began sharing different opinions. Many viewers praised the lead pair and said their chemistry stood out in the video.

At the same time, several users criticised the romantic scenes, saying the visuals appeared too bold. Some compared the video to a commercial, while others felt it focused more on intimacy than the film’s action theme.

One Reddit user wrote, “Feels like since they’ve literally named the movie Toxic, they’ll use that as a free pass to justify every problematic thing in it.”

Another user commented, “It’s like condom ads.”

A different viewer wrote, “Don’t like the song but have to admit Kiara looks really pretty.”

Another social media user said, “This movie falls in erotica, not action.”

The track was composed, produced and sung by Vishal Mishra, while Raj Shekhar wrote the Hindi lyrics.

Speaking about the song, Vishal said, “Tabaahi isn’t a love song in the conventional sense, it’s love as wreckage, as surrender, as fire that doesn’t ask permission. Toxic demanded music that could hold that intensity: epic and intimate at once.”

The Main Bhi Main singer added, “Yash Bhai brings a rare conviction to the screen that I tried to match note for note. Tabaahi, for me, was about chasing that raw, unfiltered pulse of love, the kind that consumes before it comforts.”

Earlier, the teaser of Toxic had received strong reactions online after its release, with viewers criticising its execution and content.

Soon after the teaser was released, social media users had shared mixed reactions. Many viewers had called it a “cringefest” and a “total embarrassment,” pointing out issues with the voice-over and overall presentation.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups featured Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi. The film was written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas, directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. It was scheduled to release in theatres on August 26, 2026.
