Ram Temple Donation Theft: SIT now turns its attention towards State Bank in Ram Temple donation theft, officers will be interrogated.


Ayodhya. The SIT investigating the Ram Mandir donation theft case has now turned its attention towards the State Bank. It is being told that SIT is now going to interrogate State Bank officers. The reason for this is the statement given by Champat Rai, the general secretary of Ram Mandir Trust, to the SIT. In his statement, Champat Rai, along with trustee Anil Mishra, has also pointed fingers at State Bank officials and requested for investigation by SIT. In such a situation, State Bank officers have also come under the purview of SIT investigation.

SIT investigation revealed that Anil Mishra looked after the financial matters of Ram temple and the cash coming in as offerings. Anil Mishra had signed an MoU in this regard with State Bank. Champat Rai has accused Anil Mishra and State Bank officials of not following the prescribed SOP. Due to which donations were stolen in Ram temple. Champat Rai has said in the statement that the bank gave dresses with pockets to the employees counting the money. These were named after housekeeping. Biometric attendance and frisking while entering and exiting was not done. In the statement, Champat Rai has held Anil Mishra as well as the bank officials responsible for all this. The SOP was signed on 6 February 2025 by Anil Mishra and Govind Mishra, Chief Manager of the Main Branch of State Bank in Ayodhya.

On the other hand, Ayodhya Police is also active in the investigation of Ram Mandir donation theft case. Police have taken the custody of Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra and Karunesh Pandey among the 8 accused arrested for theft of donations in Ram temple. On Wednesday, the police took all of them to the place where the money was distributed. Apart from this, the police is interrogating them and trying to find out who else is involved in the Ram Mandir donation theft case. Earlier, the police had taken another accused of donation theft, Avinash Shukla, on remand and interrogated him. During the investigation, it was also revealed that the accused had printed fake receipt books with the name and logo of Ram Mandir Trust. Through which he also used to take money from the devotees coming to Ram temple.
