Stock Market Today: Market brightened due to buying, Sensex-Nifty rose in trading on the basis of foreign capital.

Mumbai. Sensex and Nifty registered gains in early trade on Thursday after a huge fall in the previous trading session, supported by buying by foreign institutional investors. BSE Sensex rose 495.86 points to 76,998.54 in early trade while NSE Nifty rose 148.70 points to 24,025.

Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Eternal, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Titan, ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries and HDFC Bank were the biggest gainers. Whereas, shares of Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra remained in loss. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225 are trading higher.

On the other hand, China’s SSE Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng remained in decline. US markets closed with a decline on Wednesday. The price of international standard Brent crude stood at around $ 78.83 per barrel with an increase of 1.04 percent.

According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers on Wednesday and bought shares worth Rs 1,962.80 crore. On Wednesday, Sensex closed with a fall of 2.15 percent and Nifty with a fall of 2.12 percent.
