Mourning in Afghanistan cricket: Rashid Khan and Nabi cried in their last farewell, veteran Shapoor Zadran bid farewell with tearful eyes.

Kabul:Former veteran left arm fast bowler Shapoor Zadran, who gave a new identity to Afghanistan cricket on the global stage, is no more. When Shapoor Zadran’s mortal remains reached Kabul airport, a crowd of cricketers and fans gathered to bid farewell to their favorite hero. On this very sad occasion, all the star cricketers of Afghanistan including Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Ibrahim Zadran, Hashmatullah Shahidi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz were present there. The moist eyes and silence on the faces of fellow players clearly stated that Afghanistan has lost not only a great bowler but also a very dear friend.

Lost the battle of life due to rare and fatal disease

Shapoor Zadran was suffering from a very rare and fatal disease called ‘Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis’ (HLH) for some time. Ultimately he lost the battle of life and the news of his demise shocked the entire world cricket. When his coffin was kept in Kabul, the eyes of everyone present there were filled with tears. The team’s star spinner Rashid Khan looked completely heartbroken over the loss of his old teammate. This bowler, who created fear in the minds of the batsmen with his speed and aggressive style on the field, became silent forever today.

Shapoor was the strong foundation of the golden rise of Afghan cricket

Shapoor Zadran was the hero of the era of Afghanistan cricket when the team was struggling hard to make its mark at the international level. He played many memorable ODI and T20 matches for his country and led the team to victory in difficult conditions.
