Firozabad murder case: Innocent person’s life was taken by throwing him on the ground 8 times, court sentenced him to death within 41 days

Firozabad: The court has given a historic verdict in the case of brutal murder of one and a half year old innocent Aarav in Shikohabad, Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. The District Court has convicted the accused Viraj alias Jitendra Pathak and sentenced him to death. In this case, the decision coming within just 41 days of the incident is being considered a great example of the speed of the judicial process.

A heart-wrenching incident took place on May 30.

This tragic incident took place on May 30 in Yadav Colony of Shikohabad. Rati, a resident of village Bamai in Sirsaganj tehsil, was living with her one and a half year old son Aarav. Meanwhile, accused Viraj brutally murdered the innocent child by throwing him on the ground several times. After the video of the incident surfaced, anger spread across the state.

One sided love became the reason for murder

Investigation revealed that Rati was married to Sumit alias Priyank, a resident of Badaun, but there was a domestic dispute going on between the two. Meanwhile, Viraj, who appeared to be her brother-in-law, was pressurizing Rati for marriage. Rati refused to marry him citing her child. According to the police, out of anger the accused killed innocent Aarav.

Arrest within 6 hours

After the incident, the police acted swiftly and arrested the accused within about six hours of the encounter. The police completed the investigation in just six days, collected statements of 13 witnesses, CCTV footage and other important evidence and filed the charge sheet in the court.

Court awarded death sentence

The case was quickly heard in the court of District and Sessions Judge Dr. Babbu Sarang. The prosecution presented 13 witnesses, while the defense presented only one witness. On the basis of all the evidence and witnesses, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to death.

Got justice in 41 days

The decision in this case within just 41 days is being considered a major achievement of the justice system. The court considered that this crime was extremely heinous and inhuman, hence it was only fair to give the harshest punishment to the culprit. This decision, along with providing justice to the victim’s family, has also sent a strong message to the society that those who commit such crimes against innocent people will not be spared.
