Valid Travel Document Required: A very important news has come out for railway passengers. Railways has changed the ticket related rules. It has often been seen that many railway passengers show their tickets to the ticket checker on WhatsApp during the journey. But after the new changes of Railways, now showing tickets on WhatsApp will be considered illegal. Railways has clarified that the ticket shown on WhatsApp will not be valid.

According to the new rules of Railways, unreserved tickets booked through RailOne App will be valid only on the mobile device from which the ticket is issued. If the ticket is being forwarded through any other mobile or its screenshot is being shown, then it will no longer be valid.

What is the new instruction of Railways?

According to railway officials, a ticket booked through ‘RailOne App’ is a digital document, which is directly linked to your registered mobile number and the same phone from which it has been purchased. Therefore, to show it to the ticket checker during the journey, it is necessary for you to have the same original mobile phone with which you had booked the ticket.

Showing the ticket received on WhatsApp is not enough, it is important to know the rules of Railways!

Apart from this, you will also have to carry with you an original photo ID like Aadhaar or Voter Card. Keep in mind that showing a screenshot of a ticket or showing a ticket forwarded from another phone will be completely invalid.

Why will WhatsApp ticket not be valid?

According to Railways, there is a risk of fraud and misuse of tickets sent on screenshots or WhatsApp. Actually, a screenshot of the same ticket can be sent to many people, due to which people can try to travel again and again on the same ticket. To prevent this fraud, Railways has made a rule that only the original digital ticket available in the app will be valid during the journey.

Required documents

• Original digital ticket available within the ‘RailOne App’.
• The same mobile phone with which you booked the ticket.
• Any government photo ID like Aadhar Card, Voter ID or Driving License.
• Both your ticket and ID can be checked by railway employees during the journey.
