Yamaha’s big leap! The first ‘FZ Blue Flex’ to run on E85 ethanol has been launched in the Indian market
Promoting eco-friendly and cost-effective options in the Indian vehicle market, India Yamaha Motor has launched its first flex-fuel motorcycle ‘Yamaha FZ Blue Flex’ in India. The ex-showroom price of this bike in Delhi has been set at Rs 1,24,240. This is Yamaha’s first model that can easily run on any ethanol-blended fuel, from E20 straight through to E85. This is considered a major step to strengthen India’s ethanol blending policy and reduce dependence on petrol.
Powerful engine and flex-fuel technology
Yamaha has specially modified the engine of this bike so that it can run smoothly on high ethanol blends. The FZ Blue Flex is powered by a 149 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine generates 11.7 bhp of power and 12.8 Nm of peak torque, which does not compromise the performance of the bike in daily use.
