Simulacra movie: Can love last if memories change? A futuristic love story will unfold from ‘Simulacra’

A new feature film ‘Simulacra’ is coming to the audience with a unique combination of science, technology and emotions in the Indian entertainment world. Philosia Films has officially announced the much awaited film, which will release on Waves OTT on 17th July.

Set in the near future, human life is controlled by neural brain chips in this sci-fi thriller. In this world, people gain the ability to alter, rewrite, or completely erase their memories. Based on such a futuristic concept, the story takes the audience to the border between reality and virtual world.

The film will feature Satyajit Dubey as ‘Nayan’ and Akshara Haasan as ‘Nivi’. Nayan claims that he and Nivi used to have a very close relationship. For this he shows photographs from his neural memory vault as evidence. But he does not exist in Nivi’s memory. Her memory vault is completely empty. The two then delve into their past in a thriller that revolves around love, memories and truth.

The film’s writer and director Pankaj Sawant said, “In today’s hyper-real world it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate between truth and illusion. If we can’t even trust our memories, how can we find the truth? ‘Simulacra’ is not just a story about technology, but a film that explores human relationships, love and the meaning of reality.”

Actress Akshara Haasan said, “Nevi is one of the most unique characters I have played. The role allowed me to discover a new side of myself as an actress. The film gave me the opportunity to experience many shades of emotions.”

While actor Satyajit Dubey said, “The story of ‘Simulacra’ captivated me from the beginning. The film aptly captures the blurring boundaries between reality, identity and relationships in the age of AI.”
