Team India got worse defeat than Pakistan, shameful figures came out after the match
After Ireland, the Indian team has also lost the T20 series in England. The fourth T20 match played in Bristol on Thursday (July 9) was do or die for Team India but Shreyas Iyer brigade could only score 158 runs. England achieved the target easily by losing 1 wicket in 13.5 overs. With this, the host team has taken an unassailable 2-1 lead in the 5-match T20 series. The first match of this series was lost due to rain.
England captain Harry Brook scored 79 runs in 35 balls, while Phil Salt scored 59 runs in 42 balls. There was an unbeaten partnership of 146 runs between the two for the second wicket, due to which the English team reached the target with 37 balls remaining. This was England’s biggest win in terms of balls remaining in a 150 plus chase against a full member team in T20 International. Earlier, it had defeated Pakistan in 2022 with 33 balls remaining. That means the Indian team has suffered a worse defeat than Pakistan.

Team India’s third biggest defeat
The Indian team has suffered the third biggest defeat in terms of balls remaining in T20. Earlier, it was defeated by Australia in 2008 with 52 balls remaining and in 2025 with 40 balls remaining. Both these matches were played in Melbourne. In 2021, the Indian team was defeated by New Zealand and Sri Lanka with 33-33 balls remaining.

How was the match?
After winning the toss, the Indian team came to bat first and lost 3 wickets for 48 runs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi (15), Ishan Kishan (4) and Abhishek Sharma (16) had returned to the pavilion. Shreyas took charge from here and scored unbeaten 80 runs in 49 balls. However, they did not get support from the other end, due to which Team India could not reach a big score. After this, Arshdeep Singh gave a good start to India by dismissing Jos Buttler (8) in the third over itself, but Brook and Salt created such a ruckus that Team India could never make a comeback. The last match of the series will be played tomorrow (July 11) in Southampton.
