Muslim husband and wife forcibly converted Hindu woman by holding her hostage in the house, Maulvi refused to read the Nikah, husband and wife arrested

Moradabad :- A Hindu woman became so frustrated with having family relations with a Muslim family that the Muslim woman called her to her house, held her hostage and forced her to convert to Islam. The husband and wife called the Maulvi and tried to force her to marry her husband. Maulvi refused for Nikah because woman’s consent is necessary for Nikah and forced Nikah is against Shariat. Despite this, she was kept hostage at home and obscene acts were done to her. Somehow the woman managed to get out of there, after which she lodged a complaint with the police. The police registered a case in this case and arrested the husband and wife.

What is the whole matter :-

Victim Renu Bala, daughter of late Baburam, resident of Mohalla Prakash Nagar, street no. 3, line crossing Majhola police station, victim Renu Bala’s Mehnaz Begum, wife of Sultan Salauddin, resident of Azad Nagar, near water tank, police station Majhola, resident of Peer Ka Bazaar, Jayantipur, had family relations with police station Majhola for about 3 years ago. Due to which they used to visit each other’s house from time to time and also celebrated each other’s festivals together. Mehnaz Begum’s husband Sultan Salauddin had evil intentions on Renu Bala for a long time. Renu Bala had no idea about this. On 6 February 2026, Mehnaz Begum took Renu Bala into confidence and called her to her house. Where Salauddin, a Maulvi and two other unknown persons were already present. Salauddin and Mehnaz forcibly took Renu hostage and in the presence of the Maulvi present there and two unknown people, they converted Renu at the point of their licensed pistol and made her read several poems and were pressurized to get married. Which Renu opposed a lot. The Maulvi told Salauddin that according to Shariat, a marriage done without the woman’s consent would be illegal, then Salauddin said that even if she does not agree to the marriage, I will forcibly keep her as my wife. For not agreeing to the marriage, Salauddin and Mehnaz abused Renu by using caste related words and threatened to kill her if she did not agree. Both of them kept Renu hostage for several days. Salauddin did obscene acts and molested Renu, and if Renu somehow managed to save her life, he threatened to kill her if he met her. Salauddin is a person of criminal nature against whom a serious criminal case of SC/ST and 307 IPC is registered in Badaun district.

SP City Ranvijay Singh said that a victim had complained about forced religious conversion. Besides, an attempt was also made to force her into marriage. The husband and wife had kept the victim hostage in their own house. Somehow the victim managed to get out of there. A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim and the husband and wife have also been arrested. Efforts are being made to arrest the Maulvi and two other persons.
