Anne Hathaway wants sons to be like Tom Holland

Anne Hathaway has nothing but admiration for her The Odyssey co-star Tom Holland, revealing that she hopes her own children grow up to be just like the British actor.
During a recent interview while promoting Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, the Oscar-winning actress described Holland as the “dream son” after working alongside him in the film, where the pair portray mother and son. Hathaway plays Queen Penelope, while Holland stars as her on-screen son, Telemachus.
Speaking about their bond on set, Hathaway said that as a mother in real life, she hopes all of her children grow up to be as wonderful as her on-screen son. She praised Holland’s character, kindness and professionalism, adding that he made the filming experience even more memorable.
The actress also shared that the warm atmosphere among the cast played a major role in bringing the story to life. According to Hathaway, despite The Odyssey being a grand-scale production, the film is grounded in genuine appreciation and respect between its cast members and director Christopher Nolan.
She noted that everyone involved was determined to give their best performance and live up to Nolan’s expectations. Hathaway specifically praised Holland, Matt Damon and Nolan, saying the team’s mutual admiration created a positive working environment throughout production.
Holland, for his part, has also spoken highly of Hathaway, previously describing her as a supportive co-star who helped him feel comfortable while working alongside such an accomplished cast. The actor admitted he initially found joining a Christopher Nolan film intimidating but quickly felt welcomed by his fellow stars.
The Odyssey marks Hathaway’s latest collaboration with Nolan after previously appearing in The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar. The highly anticipated adaptation of Homer’s epic poem stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Holland portraying Telemachus. The ensemble cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron and Elliot Page.
Away from the cameras, Hathaway is a mother to sons Jonathan and Jack, whom she shares with husband Adam Shulman. The actress is also expecting her third child, making her comments about motherhood and Holland’s admirable qualities especially heartfelt.
The Odyssey is scheduled to arrive in theatres on July 17, with anticipation continuing to build around Nolan’s star-studded adaptation. Hathaway’s glowing tribute to Holland has only added to the excitement surrounding the film, with fans praising the pair’s wholesome off-screen friendship and on-screen chemistry.
