Vasilj set for Saudi switch

After leaving FC St. Pauli, Nikola Vasilj is now reportedly set for a move to Saudi Arabia.

After FC St. Pauli’s relegation from the Bundesliga, Nikola Vasilj announced that he would be leaving the club as a free agent following the expiration of his contract. Now, it appears the 30-year-old goalkeeper has found a new employer.

According to Bild and Hamburger Morgenpost, Vasilj is set to join newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side Al-Diriyah.

Following a successful medical, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international has reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Saudi club.

Vasilj spent a total of five years with St. Pauli, making a total of 167 appearances.

Most recently, he started all four of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s matches at the World Cup, where they were knocked out by co-hosts the United States in the round of 32.
