Ajay Devgan’s comedy film ‘Dhamaal 4’ performed brilliantly at the box office and earned Rs 22.50 crore on the second day. The film’s total Indian net collection in two days reached Rs 36.50 crore, raising hopes of a better performance over the weekend.

Box Office Collection: Bollywood Actor Ajay Devgan’s much-awaited comedy film ‘Dhamaal 4’ has made a strong start at the box office after its release. Despite receiving mixed reviews in initial reviews, the film has been successful in drawing audiences to theatres. The film’s earnings recorded an increase of approximately 60.7 percent on the second day of its release, significantly boosting its initial box office performance.

The film has collected a net collection of Rs 36.50 crore in India in the first two days. Looking at the positive trend of the weekend, trade analysts believe that the film’s earnings may increase further on Sunday.

Double digit opening on first day

Released in theaters on July 10, 2026, ‘Dhamal 4’ opened with around 10,669 shows across the country on the first day. The film made a net collection of Rs 14 crore on the opening day, which is considered good for comedy genre films. Although the film received mixed responses from critics, it received positive reviews from family audiences and fans of the franchise.

More than 60 percent jump in earnings on the second day

The shows of the film on Saturday were increased to approximately 10,953, which brought more viewers to the theatres. Its direct impact was seen at the box office and the film made a net collection of Rs 22.50 crore on the second day. Thus, the total Indian net earning of the film in two days reached Rs 36.50 crore. This increase shows that the film is getting the benefit of word of mouth and weekend.

Competition from ‘Welcome to the Jungle’

At the box office, ‘Dhamal 4’ is also being compared with the recent multi-starrer comedy film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ had earned around Rs 20 crore on the second day and its total net collection in two days had reached Rs 39 crore. In this respect, ‘Dhamal 4’ is definitely a little behind, but its performance is considered competitive. Experts believe that if Sunday’s collection is as per expectations, the film can make a strong position in the opening weekend.

Better start than Ajay Devgan’s previous films

‘Dhamaal 4’ has left behind the initial box office performance of many of Ajay Devgan’s previous films. Romantic-comedy ‘De De Pyaar De 2’ had earned around Rs 12.25 crore on the second day and its total net collection in two days was Rs 21 crore. Similarly, ‘Son of Sardar 2’ had earned Rs 8.25 crore on the second day and the total net collection of two days could reach only Rs 15.50 crore. Compared to these figures, the performance of ‘Dhamal 4’ appears quite strong.

The record of ‘Total Dhamaal’ is still far away

‘Total Dhamaal’, the third film of the ‘Dhamaal’ franchise, had earned Rs 20.40 crore on the second day in 2019 and later had a lifetime net collection of approximately Rs 155.67 crore in India. Although ‘Dhamaal 4’ has taken a good start in the first two days, the film will have to perform consistently in the coming weeks to reach the lifetime collection of ‘Total Dhamaal’.

Popularity of franchise became a big strength

The ‘Dhamaal’ franchise has been popular among Indian audiences for many years. Family entertainment, slapstick comedy and multi-starrer cast have been its biggest identity. ‘Dhamal 4’ also takes this tradition forward and tries to make the audience laugh with light entertainment. This is the reason why despite mixed reviews, the film is getting good response in theatres.

Strong star cast adds to the attraction

Apart from Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Javed Jaffrey are seen in important roles in the film. Apart from this, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Upendra Limaye, Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Esha Gupta and Vijay Patkar are also a part of the film. The presence of multi-starrer actors is considered to be the biggest strength of the film.

Directing and producing

The film is directed by Indra Kumar, who also directed the previous films in the ‘Dhamaal’ franchise. The film is jointly produced by T-Series Films, Panorama Studios, Devgan Films, Maruthi International and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures. This film takes forward the story of ‘Total Dhamaal’ released in 2019.

What will be the challenge ahead?

The first two days’ performance at the box office has been encouraging, but the real success of any film depends on its first week and second week earnings. If ‘Dhamal 4’ continues to attract the family audience and positive word of mouth remains, then it could prove to be a long haul player. At present, the film has given a strong start to the weekend indicating that the charm of the comedy franchise is still intact.
