Political activity intensifies before the monsoon session, important discussion will be held in the all-party meeting on July 19.
New Delhi: Before the monsoon session of Parliament, the Central Government has decided to call an all-party meeting on July 19. In this meeting, the government will share information about its legislative agenda with all the political parties, while the opposition will also put forward the major issues to be raised during the session. According to officials, the meeting will be held at 11 am and is part of the regular procedure before each session of Parliament.
How long will the monsoon session last?
Monsoon session will start from 20th July and continue till 13th August. Let us tell you, after the approval of President Draupadi Murmu, the government had announced the dates of the session. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that in this session, priority will be given to meaningful discussion, debate and necessary legislative work on topics of national importance.
The government is preparing to introduce many important bills in this session. It is believed that there may be a heated debate between the government and the opposition in Parliament regarding these proposals. The purpose of the all-party meeting is also to hear the suggestions and objections of various parties in advance so that the proceedings of the House can run smoothly.
The opposition made a strategy to corner the government
The opposition has also made a strategy to corner the government on many issues. Other opposition parties including Congress may demand discussion on alleged paper leak in NEET-UG exam, recent statement of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other national issues. Congress has already given a notice of breach of privilege regarding the statement of the Defense Minister.
This time the effect of changes within various political parties can also be seen on the Parliament session. The political picture of the Houses has changed due to divisions in some parties in recent months and defection of MPs, which is likely to affect both the discussion and strategy.
Eye also on 130th constitutional amendment
Meanwhile, the proposed 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill will also be kept an eye on. The Joint Parliamentary Committee reviewing this bill may finalize its report on July 17. It is believed that after the report is presented in Parliament, there may be a wide political debate on it. In such a situation, there is a possibility of confrontation and detailed discussion between the government and the opposition on many important issues during the monsoon session.
