New Delhi : An IPS officer has been arrested by the police on Wednesday, after which the officer was produced in the court, from where he has been sent to jail for 14 days judicial custody.
In fact, Attapur Police in Hyderabad, Telangana has arrested M Udaya Krishna Reddy (33), a trainee officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), in a case of sexual harassment, stalking and criminal intimidation.
The accused, a 2025 batch IPS officer undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), was detained near Aramghar Cross Roads on the night of July 28 after investigation.
According to a police statement on Wednesday, the accused had allegedly connected with a fellow IPS trainee officer on Instagram in 2025. The victim alleges that the relationship included emotional abuse, threats, harassment, creation of fake social media accounts, threats to leak private chats and repeated attempts to contact her family and colleagues even after she ended the relationship and married someone else. Police said that on the basis of evidence found during the investigation, the accused was arrested and produced in a court in Rajendranagar, from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
The case is being investigated by a special team formed by the Hyderabad Police Commissioner, working under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women Safety Wing) Dr P. Lavanya Naik Jadhav. Further investigation is ongoing in the matter.
