By-elections on Bankipur, Datia and Manjalpur seats, voting will be held tomorrow, who will win on August 3?

Voting for the by-elections to Bihar’s Bankipur seat, Madhya Pradesh’s Datia seat and Gujarat’s Manjalpur seat will be held on July 30 i.e. tomorrow and the results will be declared on August 3. While there is a thorny contest between BJP’s Ashutosh Tiwari and Congress’s Ghanshyam Singh in Datia, BJP has given ticket to Neeraj Kumar Sinha on Bankipur seat, while Jansuraj’s Prashant Kishor will give a tough fight to the BJP candidate. RJD has made Rekha Gupta its candidate on this seat. BJP has fielded Satish Patel on Manjalpur seat, while Congress has given ticket to Bhikhabhai Rabari.

Winning the Bankipur assembly by-election in Bihar is important for the BJP, as BJP leader Nitin Naveen has been winning this seat continuously. This by-election is being held as BJP national president Nitin Naveen has resigned from the assembly after being elected to the Rajya Sabha. The election has become interesting with the entry of Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishor in this by-election, which is considered a BJP stronghold. Prashant Kishor is making his electoral political debut from this seat.

Earlier, BJP had fielded Abhishek Kumar Sinha, a close aide of Nitin Naveen, for this seat. He too had filed his nomination but on July 10, Abhishek Kumar suddenly withdrew his name due to family reasons.

The by-election is a close contest between the BJP and the Congress. A Delhi court had sentenced Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti to three years in prison in a cheating case, after which his assembly membership was terminated. This is the reason why the by-election is being held in the Datia seat. In the 2023 assembly elections, Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti defeated senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra.
