How are fake eggs made?
To make fake eggs, companies mix white eggs in tea leaf solution, which turns their color brown. After this, they are sold as desi eggs. Gypsum powder, calcium carbonate and oil-based wax are used to make the outer part of the egg. The amount of calcium is as much as the human body can consume. After this, the inner part of the egg is prepared with the help of gelatin, sodium alginate and calcium. Due to this, the inner part of the egg also looks exactly like the real one. These eggs are completely chemical based and fake.
Consuming eggs
treated with chemicals can lead to diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s, memory loss, and weakness. Furthermore, liver damage, skin diseases, and other organ failure can also occur.
How to identify fake eggs?
1. The shell: The shell of a real egg is always slightly rough, whereas the shell of a dyed or fake egg appears excessively smooth and shiny.
2. Water test: When real eggs are put in a glass of water, they sink to the bottom, whereas a bad or light fake egg floats on the top of the water.
3. Shake and check – If there is a lot of noise from inside the egg when shaken vigorously, then its quality may be bad.
4. Odor: Desi eggs colored with tea leaves or chemicals may smell slightly chemical or tea-like. If the egg smells plastic or strangely chemical after cooking or boiling, do not eat it.
5. When broken: The yolk of a real egg is round and prominent, and the white doesn’t spread easily. However, the yolk of an adulterated or fake egg breaks immediately and spreads like water.
What should you keep in mind when buying eggs?
If you’re buying eggs from the market, always buy them from a reputable store or authorized seller. Avoid buying eggs that have been kept out in the open for extended periods. Egg shells should not be broken, excessively dirty, or smelly. If buying packaged eggs, be sure to check the packaging date, expiration date, and brand information. After bringing them home, keep them in the refrigerator at the correct temperature to ensure they remain safe for a long time.
What should you do if you feel unwell after eating eggs?
If you experience symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, severe stomach pain, fever, or allergic reactions within a few hours of eating eggs, don’t ignore them. This could be a sign of food poisoning or eating spoiled eggs. In such a case, you should immediately contact a doctor and, if necessary, get tested at the nearest hospital. Also, if you suspect a shop is selling adulterated or spoiled eggs, you can complain to the local food safety department.
