Hanuma Vihari said on his YouTube channel that Gautam Gambhir trusts some favorite players more. Giving the example of Shivam Dubey and Washington Sundar, he said that both the players have not been successful in performing in recent times. According to Vihari, Shivam Dubey is neither able to contribute in bowling, nor has his performance in batting and fielding been good. At the same time, he said that considering Washington Sundar’s performance in the last few years, his continuous presence in the team is beyond comprehension.

Need to give continuous opportunities to players

Vihari also raised questions on the team management’s repeated changes in the playing eleven. He said that Sanju Samson and young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi did not get consistent opportunities. Sometimes Samson was made to sit out and sometimes Suryavanshi was dropped from the team after a few matches. According to him, any player should be given five or six consecutive matches to prove his ability. Being repeatedly dropped from the team affects the confidence of the players.

Questions raised on selection also

Hanuma Vihari also expressed his displeasure regarding the Indian spin attack. He said that if the team was constantly relying on Varun Chakraborty and Axar Patel, then what was the point of including Ravi Bishnoi in the team for the tour. According to him, the problem is not only about the performance of the players but also about the team selection and strategy. Vihari said that players should get security and confidence, because only when they get continuous opportunities, they will be able to prove their talent.
