After the release of the UP Police Constable Result 2026, successful candidates will now have to appear for the PET and PST. Candidates who do not meet the prescribed physical standards and running requirements will be excluded from the final selection.
Lucknow: Following the release of the results of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2026, the selection process has moved to the next stage. Successful candidates in the written examination will now be required to participate in the Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which begin on August 17. Meeting the prescribed physical standards and race requirements will be mandatory in these stages.
Physical examination will start after the result.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has released the results of the Constable Recruitment Exam 2026. The exam was held on June 8, 9, and 10, 2026. Candidates declared successful in the written exam will now have to appear for the next stages of the recruitment process: the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). According to the board, the physical tests will begin on August 17, 2026.
Just passing the written exam is not enough.
Success in the written examination alone does not guarantee final selection. Candidates must meet the prescribed standards in both the physical standards and the race. If a candidate does not meet the minimum height or other physical criteria set during the PST, they will be eliminated from the recruitment process at that stage. They will then be ineligible to appear in the PET.
Know the height and chest standards
For male candidates in the General, OBC, and SC categories, the minimum height is 168 centimeters. Candidates in these categories must have a chest measurement of 79 centimeters without expansion and 84 centimeters with expansion.
The minimum height for male candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category is 160 centimeters. For this category, the chest measurement must be 77 centimeters without expansion and 82 centimeters with expansion.
For female candidates in General, OBC and SC category, the minimum height has been fixed at 152 cm, while for female candidates of Scheduled Tribe category, this limit has been kept at 147 cm.
This much race will have to be completed in PET
Under the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), male candidates will be required to complete a 4.8-kilometer run within 25 minutes, while female candidates will be required to complete a 2.4-kilometer run within 14 minutes. Candidates who fail to complete the run within the stipulated time will be disqualified from the recruitment process.
Document verification will also be important
Candidates who qualify for the PET and PST will undergo document verification. This will be followed by a medical examination. Only those who pass all stages will be included in the final selection list. Therefore, candidates are advised to pay special attention to their fitness before the physical test and have the necessary original documents ready.
Important advice for candidates
According to the guidelines issued by the UPPRPB, all candidates must arrive at the examination center on the scheduled date and time. Candidates must bring their admit card, identity card, and other required documents. Any incorrect information, discrepancies in documents, or deficiencies in physical standards may result in cancellation of candidacy. Therefore, even after passing the written examination, successful completion of all stages of the recruitment process will be mandatory for final appointment.
