IND vs ENG: With the return of Rohit-Kohli, star players will be out, what will be the playing-11 of Team India for the first ODI?

New Delhi: The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and England will be played in Birmingham on Tuesday. After the disappointing performance in the T20 series, Team India will now take the field with the intention of making a great comeback in the ODIs. The biggest news of this series is the return of captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli. With the arrival of both experienced players, the team’s batting order looks stronger than before.

Team composition will change with Ro-Co’s return

After the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, changes in the playing-11 of the Indian team are considered certain. Young opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has not got a place in the team for this series. In such a situation, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill can be seen starting the innings. The selectors have expressed confidence in this pair, giving priority to experience.

Emphasis will be on strong batting

India’s biggest weakness in the T20 series was batting. Due to continuous fall of wickets the team could not score big scores. For this reason, India can go with additional batting options in the first ODI.

Virat Kohli can bat at number three and Shreyas Iyer at number four. KL Rahul can handle the responsibility of wicketkeeper, while he can also bat at number five.

All-rounder and bowling department

If we look at bowling, Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy are not part of this match due to injury. In such a situation, the responsibility of all-rounder will be on Akshar Patel and Washington Sundar. Kuldeep Yadav will be the main bowler of the team in the spin department.

Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh will take charge of the fast bowling. Along with him, Gurnoor Brar is also likely to get a chance. Gurnoor had impressed everyone with his performance in the recent ODI series.
