WhatsApp New Feature: Big update of WhatsApp, now iPhone users will be able to save chats even without iCloud

According to reports, WhatsApp is preparing a separate cloud backup facility for its users. After the introduction of this feature, iPhone users will be able to store their WhatsApp chats directly on WhatsApp’s backup service. This can help save iCloud’s limited storage.

iPhone users can get two backup options

According to the report of WABetaInfo, a website that monitors new features of WhatsApp, the company is working on a new backup option for iOS. This feature has been seen in iOS beta version 26.28.10.16. After the arrival of this new option, users can have two options for chat backup. Apple iCloud Backup WhatsApp’s own backup service For now, iCloud will remain the default backup option, but users will be able to choose the WhatsApp backup service as per their needs. They will also be able to go back to the iCloud backup if needed.

WhatsApp will provide free cloud storage facility

According to reports, WhatsApp can provide up to 2GB of free cloud storage for chat backup. This will benefit those users whose iCloud storage gets filled quickly due to WhatsApp backup. Actually, Apple gives 5GB free iCloud storage to its users. This also includes data from photos, files, device backups and apps. In such a situation, due to large WhatsApp backup, iCloud space gets exhausted quickly and users have to purchase additional storage.

Paid plan may come for big backup

WhatsApp can also bring paid cloud storage plans for those users who need more storage. It is being claimed in the reports that the company is working on options with more storage. This may include a storage option of up to 1TB and a plan of around 50GB. The price of 50GB plan can be around $0.99 per month i.e. around Rs 95.

The special thing about WhatsApp is that the company is emphasizing on keeping the chat backup safe keeping in mind the privacy of the users. The new cloud backup feature is also expected to have the security of end-to-end encryption, which will keep users’ personal data safe.

The feature is currently in testing

This new backup feature is currently in the development stage and has not been released for public beta testing. The company may start testing it in the coming time.

If this feature is rolled out for all users, then iPhone users will get more facilities for WhatsApp chat backup and can also get relief from the problem of iCloud storage to a great extent.
