Knews Desk – Opposition parties staged a unique protest in the Parliament complex on Friday over the alleged irregularities in donations to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Independent MP from Purnia, Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, disguised as a priest, arrived at the Makar Dwar of Parliament and sat down with a donation box in front of him. Shortly after, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav placed the donation box in front of him.
During the protest, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, also arrived and symbolically placed some money in the donation box. Several other opposition MPs also contributed.
When money was placed in the donation box during the protest, Pappu Yadav took it out and put it in his pocket. Opposition leaders interpreted this as a symbol of alleged irregularities in the donations to the Ram Temple. Following this, the MPs present protested by raising slogans like “Chair Chor” and “Thief-Thief.”
Demand for a Parliamentary Discussion
Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad said that this Ayodhya-related issue has become a topic of discussion across the country. According to him, Akhilesh Yadav was the first to raise this issue, and now the opposition will strongly raise it in Parliament as well. He said that maintaining the honor of Lord Shri Ram’s city, Ayodhya, is everyone’s responsibility, and this matter should be discussed in detail.
In addition to the alleged Ram Temple offering controversy, opposition MPs also protested the Delhi Police’s actions during recent student protests. Slogans demanding the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah were raised during these protests.
Dharmendra Yadav Makes Serious Allegations
SP MP Dharmendra Yadav alleged that there was a lack of transparency in the process of collecting donations from devotees in Ayodhya. He claimed that many devotees were not given receipts and their money was taken before they reached the donation box. He also alleged that several suspicious incidents were recorded on CCTV cameras installed in the money counting area, but the old footage was later deleted.
Dharmendra Yadav said that the opposition has been continuously demanding a discussion on this entire issue in Parliament and has also urged the Speaker to hold a debate on the matter.
